Child Anxiety
What is child anxiety?
All children and young people feel worried sometimes, and this is a normal part of growing up. At certain points, such as on their first day of school or before an exam, young people may become more anxious. However they will soon be able to calm down and feel better. Anxiety can become a problem when a child feels stuck in it, or when it feels like an overwhelming, distressing or unmanageable experience. If this kind of worrying goes on for a long time, it can leave a young person feeling exhausted and isolated, and limit the things they feel able to do.
Symptoms of child anxiety
- Sleeping problems, waking up in the night with nightmares
- Lack of focus
- Constant worrying
- Not eating properly
- Being less social with other children

How I can help
I use the Emotion Code to help with anxiety in children in the same way as with adults but with less emotional baggage to release. It is often fear of the future and uncertainty that causes the anxiety. With many clients, I often see the children absorbing the anxiety from their parents. It is important to ensure that the child’s environment is also anxiety free and secure. I have multiple clients where the child has transformed after a few sessions. The children feel much happier and more confident after emotional release with not a worry in the world like it should be at that age!!
I have helped a 3 year old who was struggling to speak. The child had a difficult birth and there were trapped emotions regarding the umbilical chord being trapped around their neck. After I released emotions of guilt, panic and terror, he was much more engaged in life and is now bombarding his parents with questions and curiosity for life!!
